About Me

Julian Hermano (he/they) is an award winning writer and international actor of Filipino lineage who has performed primarily in their home of New York City and in Osaka, Japan.

Julian is the co-creator and co-writer behind the Audio Verse Award winning narrative audio series “The Realm Tree”, a fantasy story about how fairies get their wings. The series features voice actors from Avatar The Last Airbender, Assassin's Creed Valhalla, and Genshin Impact. Led by Julian and co-creator Jamar Thompson, the production brought a 30 episode, 700 page script to life over the course of 2 years.

”The Realm Tree” has over 18,000 podcast downloads and an equivalent number of YouTube views. A second season and further content is in progress.

In 2020 he returned from a year working at Universal Studios Japan. During this time he was the first non-Japanese actor to play lead character “Luffy” of the massive anime sensation One Piece in their yearly live water show. During his time there Julian also played several student roles in the park based off of the Harry Potter series of books and films.

Other interests include telling empowering fantasy stories through the lens of Tabletop Gaming as a Twitch Affiliate and Dungeons & Dragons game master (Twitch channel JuliCiel), and TTRPG actual play performer with various networks and channels.

With a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, Julian studied on camera and voice acting at Stonestreet Studios with big NYC names such as Ted Sluberski and Andy Roth. He also has several years working on the more abstract sides of acting at the Experimental Theatre Wing. He has taken many on camera and voiceover classes around New York City even after graduation.

Thanks to a series of gracious scholarships, he finished his primary Improv Comedy training at the Upright Citizen's Brigade NYC, graduating in early 2018. He has also taken part in the UCB Academy program, their highest level of education.

Additional new media productions include numerous New York City based webseries, and a short film "SONNET 23" which has passed 205,000 views on YouTube. He has discovered the joy of seeing people make GIFs and fan videos of him online, and the excitement of seeing himself onscreen at film festivals such as NYC Web Fest and NewFest NYC.
